Many of us moved to M'borough because if the way it "is"

 It is may opinion that many of these groups and individuals try to out maneuver the senior tax payers , which everyone knows makes up a great majority of the towns people of which are also on limited fixed incomes.

   I have truly received an education over the last few months at our town meetings since I became a resident, and saw opinions, recommendations changed by several of our elected officials on projects, articles, conversations on petitions, and warrants, that in one week would be against and the following week, would be in favor, and would say to myself, what happened?

  We all talk about how the lobbyists in Washington can change opinions and votes in government, and I ask myself, is this happening in our town by the influence of these special interest individuals or groups, that are not on fixed incomes, of which many could pay for or support there projects themselves, but would rather have the seniors,middle income,and non residents of this town pay for. 

  Seniors in many cases cannot get to town meetings to speak nor to the town annual meetings to vote for many reasons.Some of the reasons are health,transportation,and being away from these extreme winters we have.

  Special interest groups can coral hundreds of names of residents for petitions that have the same interest within 2 to 3 days--they know where to go to get them. It is a lot more difficult to get seniors or self employed residents signatures in a matter of a couple of days. 

  Also many other residents are gone sometime during the  winter months including during the annual meeting.Those against SB2 love this!!!!!

  Their are also many seniors along  with other concerned residents that don't want their voting decisions known to the public at the annual meetings and would rather vote by ballot. This is other big reason we need SB2 along with absentee ballot, which will result in more residents being able to make the right decisions for the town, rather then just a select group, that do not have in my view, the future of preserving the character of the  Town of Moultonboro as it is today.Many of us have moved here because of the way the town is today and not because we thought there would be change!!!
